Leveling Up

Ten independent teams of five members. Each team with assembled from the most loyal and most talented, with a specific role to fill. Three teams of on-site security, three teams dedicated to acquisitions, two teams on transportation, a counter-intelligence team (Jean just HAD to have one. A status symbol.), and an elite tactical unit lead by Jean and Julia. More than half of Jean's men had been dismissed or balked at the new direction the operation had taken, but he was confident that his force was threefold as effective. Because of the new terms of trade offered by the Terenzio's, Jean could now afford full time salaries and expensive toys. Technology was the next best thing to magic, after all.

Coming to terms with the actual state of the world turned out to be less difficult than he had expected. Julia had already suspected some of what Jean had seen first hand in Alcyone. The absurdity of magical powers battling for the universe only made Jean more giddy and carefree. He had lived to see the rise of the internet, and now this. He felt as though he was alive at just the right moment in human history. So many thousands of years spent hunting and digging up fields. Boring. And it had even been insinuated that he might also develop some magic of his own, which he intended to check into at a moment that was slightly more casual. In this moment, Jean was preparing a genuine terrorist organization to engage in world war against evil sorcerers. Under the new rules of the world, he was confident that the magic would come if he only leveled up enough. And there was only one way to level up: knock off well-secured WMT facilities and make it impossible to move the exorcism drug in quantity on the ground in Africa. He would get more money and fancier toys in the process, it was exactly like a video game, and Jean was glad to have netted himself a position on Team Hero.
